Excel Spreadsheet: Receipts and Payments Account
Excel Spreadsheet: Receipts and Payments Account
SCHEDULED RELEASE DATE: January 2025
A Receipts and Payments Account is a single entry recording system. It is an analysis of the bank account(s). The spreadsheet combines this with a Statement of Assets and Liabilities. Simply record your transactions in typical daybook or cash book listing. You can combine up to four types of accounts - Current Account, Deposit Account, Petty Cash and Business Credit Card and then produce the statements aggregating them all.
Receipts and payments do not cater for debtors and creditors but it is advisable to record both sales invoices raised and purchase invoices received. Therefore this system allows you to record these as memoranda items enabling them to appear on the Statement of Assets and Liabilities but only appearing on the Receipts and Payments Account to the extent recorded through the bank account.
If you have a bank csv file then you have the option of importing this directly into the Receipts and Payments application providing you correctly map the data over. Alternatively you can purchase the Bank Import - Data mapping and transformation App which will allow you to set up transformation rules to automate the mapping and pre-populate the required fields.
